It's Beginning to Sink in!

This past Monday Mike and I ordered the baby furniture!

It is actually starting to sink in that this is all REAL and that we are actually preparing to have and bring home a sweet precious baby!!!

Here is a picture of a few of the pieces we went with... ours will be in the espresso finish.

We had gone down to Pickles and Icecream a few weeks ago to look and get some ideas.

I originally had decided before going down to look, that I really liked the Munire Majestic collection. After looking around in the store we decided on something very similar, Baby's Dream- Legendary Curve collection. The fact that it was on sale and the other was not helped out in that decision making!!!

We ordered the espresso curved crib, double dresser, 5 drawer dresser, night stand and adult rails.

We love that it grows with the child and converts into a full size bed later on.

We are very happy with all the pieces and it should be in somewhere between late August and late September... Now the FUN begins... DECORATING!!

We are still waiting patiently for July 19th to get here. That is the BIG 20 week ultrasound when we find out the gender and get a good look at the baby's heart and brain. We will also have the quad screen blood work that day. The purpose of the quad screen is to measure the chance that your baby has one of the three birth defects: neural tube defects, down syndrome, and trisomy 18. At our last appointment Dr. L discussed this with us and strongly recommends that patients get this done. I had always said that I would NEVER have this screening done because no matter the outcome it would never change the way we love the child nor would it ever determine if we continued with the pregnancy or not.

After discussing the reasons why Dr. L recommends this screening, we decided to go ahead and have it done. We are ONLY doing this because it could affect the way in which they deliver the baby and where we would deliver. Conway Regional Medical is equipped to handle it if this were the case but Little Rock would have the specialist needed to handle a situation like this and would keep the baby from being medflight.

The down side to this screening is that there are MORE false positives and this is only a screening not a test.

So IF the screening comes back positive we will be sent to Little Rock for a more detailed ultrasound with a specialist to rule anything out.

This is all in God's hands. He has great plans for us and this child and we are trusting in Him that all is well.

No matter the gender we are just praying for a strong healthy baby!
